On May 6, Mr. Will Fuentes started his first day on the job as the City of Campbell’s Finance Director.
Mr. Fuentes has 21 years of financial leadership experience, working most recently as the Finance Director for the City of Milpitas overseeing the areas of accounting, budget, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility and business license billing, purchasing, risk management, investments, treasury, and debt management.
Prior to the City of Milpitas, he worked as an Assistant Finance Director for the City of San Leandro and as a Revenue and Budget Manager for the City of Union City.
Mr. Fuentes has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
He is lives in Newark and has two daughters who are in junior high school. Mr. Fuentes is originally from western New York and lived there before attending college in Indiana, and later moving to California.
Regarding his new hire, City Manager Brian Loventhal said, "We received a good number of applications from qualified candidates, but I was most impressed with Will’s experience in the field of local government finance. I look forward to working with him, especially now as our City embarks on a $50 million project to improve our library and police facilities."
