Our competitive U.S.A. Swimming team is open to youth ages 5 to 18 years of age. Enrollment is ongoing and practices are held year-round, excluding two weeks in August and the break during the Christmas and New Year holiday season. All practices are held at the Campbell Community Center Pool.
Please see WAVE Handbook above for team practice schedules, team guidelines, and much more important information.
Campbell WAVE Try Outs
To try out for the Campbell WAVE Swim Team, please contact Team Director James Redmond at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (408) 866-2160. Tryouts are scheduled by appointment only, and held Monday - Friday after 3:00 pm at the Campbell Community Center Pool. Group placement is done after a swimmer’s try out.
Practices are held Monday through Saturday and are divided by age and ability level. Attendance is not mandatory but improvement in both endurance and technique will not be evident with attendance of less than three days per week. Swimmers in more competitive groups will be encouraged to attend more practice sessions.
To achieve an understanding of the competitive sport of Age Group Swimming.
To promote physical fitness and a sense of pride though team work and sportsmanship.
To make friends and develop a love for the sport of swimming.
The vision of the WAVE program is to empower young people to become aware of their full potentials and strive for excellence through the sport of swimming.
All the groups at Campbell WAVE are competitive. Campbell WAVE understands and respects personal preferences therefore competition is not a requirement to be part of the team.
If you are not interested in the competitive side of the team for your child, please communicate to our staff to best accommodate your swimmer at the time of the try-out. Fees, equipment, workouts, and parent volunteer hours are the same as for competitive swimmers.
