As of January 2, 2020, all applications submitted to the Planning Division will be accepted through the City’s new MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) permitting platform, with the exception of appeals. For appeal requests, please use the appeal application form. Before you submit an application for the first time, you must create a user account. For more information, please visit the City’s Application Center.
The MGO system organizes planning applications into ten general groups, such as single-family home projects, planned developments, tree removals, etc. This page provides "Planning Application Checklists" for each application group, as described below. The checklists provide the specific application requirements for each application within the applicable group.
To complete an application please 'Register' an account at MyGovernmentOnline and then 'Apply Online' for the specific permit type as defined by the checklist. When applying be sure to: 1) Select the correct application type - incorrect permit types will be rejected; 2) Be sure to hit 'Submit' - permits which are only saved will not be processed; and 3) upload a completed Acknowledgement Statement in addition to all other materials requested by the Application Checklist.

Land Use Changes
This checklist is used for all commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projects not located within a Planned Development (P-D) Zoning District.
This checklist is used for traditional single-family residential projects, including SB-9 proposals as well as additions and new homes with an "R-1" or P-D zoned property.
This checklist is used for applications for Conditional Use Permits (e.g., new alcohol service, late-night hours, etc.) and Administrative P-D Permits to establish a new land use.
Tree Removal Permits
Sign Permit Applications
This checklist is used for all Tree Removal Permit requests unrelated to a development application. If a tree removal is part of a project, please refer to the appropriate checklist.
This Checklist is used for all commercial, industrial, mixed-use, and multi-family residential projects within the Planned Development (P-D) Zoning District.
This checklist is used for all Sign Permit requests, including permanent signs, temporary banner signs, and Master Sign Plans.
Wireless Telecom Facilities
This checklist is used for all preliminary applications, including requests for a General Plan Amendment Authorization.
This checklist is used for all wireless telecommunications facilities projects, including new and modified facilities, and Eligible Facilities Requests (EFR).
This checklist is used for standard subdivisions, with no proposed development. If your subdivision project also includes new construction, please refer to the General or Planned Development checklist.
Minor Applications and Requests
This checklist is used for all minor application types and requests. This includes Zoning Verification Letters, Fence Exceptions, Extensions of Approval, Outdoor Seating Permits, Reasonable Accommodation requests, Historic Property Designation, Mills Act requests, Collection Container Permits, and Parking Modification Permits (stand-alone requests).
