Police Department - Records Division

The Police Department Records Division is staffed by six Records Specialists, one Property & Evidence Specialist, one Court Liaison Officer, and one Supervisor. The Division is managed by the Support Services Division Captain.

The Records Division is responsible for the processing and management of all Police Department records such as crime and accident reports, warrants, traffic citations, and parking citations.

The Records Division provides assistance to the public at the front lobby information desk which is open to the public Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. They also answer all business calls to the Police Department during business office hours.

 
Vehicle Releases

If your vehicle has been stored or impounded by the Campbell Police Department, you must obtain a vehicle release prior to retrieving your vehicle at the tow yard.

You will be required to pay a fee to obtain a vehicle release. The tow company is also permitted to charge a fee for towing services and vehicle storage.

Citation Sign-Off

Citation sign-off hours are Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 1:00 PM. There is no fee for this service. If your vehicle is not drivable and is located in the City of Campbell, you may make an appointment for a sign-off by calling our Traffic Unit at (408) 866-2177.

 
Police Reports

Police report copies can be purchased by completing a Report Copy Request (64k pdf). The cost for a report is $0.05 per page. The application can be dropped off or mailed to the Campbell Police Department, 70 North First Street, Campbell, CA 95008. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH. The Police Department will respond to your request within 10 days.

Suspects or arrestees requesting copies of their arrest report must contact the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office at (408) 299-7400. The office is located at 70 West Hedding Street, San Jose, CA 95110.

Juvenile arrestees or suspects in criminal cases may be able to obtain a redacted copy of their police report. Please contact the business line at (408) 866-2121 for further information.

Ride-a-Longs
If you are interested in a ride-a-long, please come in and fill out a Ride-A-Long Application (68k pdf). After a brief records check, you will be scheduled for a ride-a-long with a Campbell Police Officer. For further information, please call the police business line at (408) 866-2721.
