Sales Tax Increases to 9.25%

Effective April 1, 2017, the sales tax rate in Santa Clara County increased by ½ cent. This resulted from the passage of Measure B approved by voters in the November 2016 election. Campbell’s total sales tax rate will now be 9.25% consisting of the following components:

a. Statewide sales tax - 6.25%

b. County transit and transportation - 1.0%

c. BART operating and maintenance tax - 0.125% (effective July 1, 2012)

d. County Retail Transactions tax - 0.125% (effective April 1, 2013)

e. Silicon Valley Transportation Solutions tax - 0.5% (effective April 1, 2017)

f. Campbell’s local sales tax - 1.25%
