The Pointer Sisters Approved Photo 1 WEB

With their first performance at Los Angeles’ Troubadour Club in 1973, the critics were bowled over by the versatility and range of the sassy, brassy Pointer Sisters and hailed them as "the most exciting thing to hit show business in years."  That year their debut album produced the hit "Yes We Can, Can."

The following year The Sister’s wrote and produced "Fairytale," a bonafide country-western tune.  The single hit big on both the country and pop charts and would win them their first Grammy Award.  As a result, The Sisters became the first black female group to ever perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.  Their 1978 release of “Fire” went Gold, and they never looked back.
Throughout the ‘80s, The Sisters released hit after hit and continued to gain recognition through Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and MTV videos.  In that decade the group produced "He's So Shy," "Slow Hand," "Automatic," "Neutron Dance," "Jump (for my love)," and "I'm So Excited," a Top 10 hit that became a Pointer Sisters classic!
