Internships & Volunteers Opportunities

The Campbell Historical Museum & Ainsley House offers many opportunities for volunteers and interns.  Individuals interested in history, decorative arts, historic gardens, or historic preservation will find volunteering an exciting way to help the Museum and meet new people.

Garden Volunteers
The Ainsley House garden volunteers assist the City of Campbell Public Works Department in maintaining a beautiful setting for weddings and events at the Ainsley House.  volunteers help in the planning, planting, and maintenance of the grounds in the style of a garden from the 1920s and 1930s.  Garden volunteers met every Tuesday from 9:00am until noon at the Ainsley House.  No experience is necessary.  Any amount of time that you can give is welcome.

    Ainsley House Docents
After completing a training, docents give tours of the Ainsley House during our public hours and occasionally for special groups.  Tours share information about life in Campbell in the 1920s and 1930s, the biography of the Ainsley family, and details about the house and its contents.  Docents must make a minimum time commitment of two four-hour shifts each month.

The Campbell Historical Museum & Ainsley House rely on volunteers to maintain our regular hours: Thursday - Sunday, noon-4:00pm.  Greeters welcome visitors, sell tickets, answer questions about exhibits, and sell museum store merchandise.

Other internships and volunteer opportunities may also be available.
